Canadians Contribute to the Haul of Prisoners
Canadians Contribute to the Haul of Prisoners In six days from the landing prisoners numbered 10,000. This wayside station in Normandy (top) was a German strongpoint. It is now in Canadian hands, and the lined-up prisoners await marching orders. They were still preparing an "impenetrable defence" when the blow fell. Another morose half-dozen (bottom) are seen with their guards; in the background, casualties receive attention. The Western Canadian Infantry Brigade formed part of the British 3rd Division.
